Anthony Smith is a Washington DC based cinematographer who freelances for major networks like The Discovery Channel and National Geographic. He grew up on the Oregon Coast, learned to SCUBA dive, made several award-winning short films and was interning as a live camera operator at NBC before the age of 17. He graduated from Full Sail University with a degree in Film in 2006. After a brief stint in Hollywood, he followed his passion into documentary and television work on the East coast. Lately, he has been doing underwater camerawork on several extreme fishing shows based all over North America. Some of the challenges he overcame were free-diving under ice and several shark encounters. He also films with local clients on Capitol Hill and the DC metropolitan area. One of his recent projects was an Expedition to Antarctica to retrace the footsteps of Polar Explorers from the early 1900’s.
